On Monday, May 4th, the Senate Local Government Committee voted 7-3 to advance Senate Bill 822, which would strengthen the Commonwealth’s firearms preemption statute. Among other provisions, the bill would allow membership organizations to recover litigation costs when local governments are found to have violated or subverted the Commonwealth’s firearms preemption law. SB 822 has been an NRA priority to ensure consistency in firearm laws and regulations. The bill now advances to the full Senate. Please contact your Senator and respectfully request a YES vote on S.822.
