In the middle of the night, three bandana-clad armed criminals kicked in the door to a home in Polk County, Fla. Once inside, the criminals used duct tape and zip ties to incapacitate two of the residents, before moving on to another area of the house. One of the residents that had been tied up managed to free himself and retrieved a gun. The resident then fired several shots at the criminals, who fled the home and into a getaway van.
A short time later, police found a dead body several miles away which turned out to be one of the intruders. Another of the intruders was captured by police and admitted to the attempted robbery. Police do not plan to charge the armed citizen.
Yesterday, the Senate voted 28-16 to pass House Bill 3094, the open carry bill. Though the constitutional carry amendment failed, the Senate did manage to adopt an amendment to eliminate the fee for a Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP). ...
