Iowa: Local gun bans violate state law

Proposed or enacted gun bans on public property in two Iowa communities likely violate state law as well as a person's constitutional right to bear arms, gun rights activists told local officials last week. Last week, the National Rifle Association sent West Burlington city leaders a letter that said the group will oppose the city's ban on carrying weapons in municipal buildings "with every means at our disposal."
