Three men forced their way through the back door of a home in Preble County, Ohio. Once inside, an altercation between the three intruders and the male resident broke out. During a brief pause in the scuffle, the resident retrieved his handgun, and fired at the criminals, striking one and causing all three to flee. The home invaders were captured by police a short time later, when medical attention was sought for the wounded intruder. Police have not arrested the resident who defended himself and Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson noted that the resident “obviously felt his life was in jeopardy.”
