Governor Signs Important Privacy Bill into Law in Oklahoma!

Oklahoma has once again demonstrated its pro-gun initiative by becoming the first state in the country to bar prospective employers from asking job applicants about their private firearm ownership.

Governor Brad Henry (D) signed House Bill 1025 into law on Friday, May 22, no doubt after hearing from many Oklahoma NRA members. HB 1025, authored by State Representative Rex Duncan (R-35) and co-sponsored by State Senator Anthony Sykes (R-24), was introduced as a direct response to then-President-elect Obama’s employment questionnaire asking applicants personal questions about their and their families’ private firearm ownership.

HB 1025 received overwhelming, bi-partisan support in both chambers of the Oklahoma legislature, and your National Rifle Association asked the Governor to sign HB 1025 into law.
