On Wednesday, March 18, House Bill 5209 passed out of the Environment Committee. Thank you for contacting members of the Environment Committee in support of HB5209. This critical pro-hunting bill would ensure hunters in the state of Connecticut that their public hunting acreage will never decrease. Also known as "no-net-loss," HB would require that the state maintain the level of available public recreational lands, which includes public hunting lands, that currently exist. Simply stated, if enacted, additional lands would have to be opened to hunting when land currently open to hunting is closed.
We encourage you to once again contact members of the Environment Committee and thank them for preserving your hunting rights by voting yes on HB5209.
