After a string of robberies in their neighborhood, a couple in Vancouver, Wash. installed a motion detecting alarm on the outside of their home. After hearing the alarm one morning, the couple raced to the window, to see a man attempting to break into their vehicles. One of the homeowners retrieved his gun, and confronted the burglar. The armed homeowner was able to order the criminal to the ground, and hold him until the police arrived. The homeowners hope that the foiled burglary will end the recent rash of crimes in the neighborhood, with one stating, “This area has been burglarized for the past two weeks, methodically down the street so hopefully that will come to an end now. ” The suspect has been charged with trespassing, car prowling and possession of meth.
