Around 9:15 a.m., a homeowner in Ogden, Utah was disturbed by a loud noise just outside his home. When the homeowner went to the front door to investigate, he found two men trying to force their way through the front door. The homeowner retrieved his 9mm handgun and confronted the burglars, who began to flee. The homeowner followed the criminals, and asked what they were doing. The criminals then fired at the homeowner, at which point the homeowner returned fire. No one was injured during the incident and the criminals managed to escape. Once the police arrived, the homeowner was able to give a description of the men who had attacked him. The police had had a previous run-in with one of the men fitting the homeowner’s description and were able to track him down and arrest him. The armed criminal is facing charges of aggravated assault and attempted burglary.
