News Flash: Brady Campaign and American Hunters and Shooters Association Attack NRA-PVF Endorsed Presidential Candidate!

Friday, October 10, 2008

The NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) has issued its endorsement in the 2008 Presidential race. (Due to federal campaign finance regulations, you'll have to read more about that endorsement by clicking here.)

It should come as no surprise that the Brady Campaign and the American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA) -- one, the leading anti-gun lobby in the country and the other, a phony front group whose mission is to confuse sportsmen --  seem to have their response orchestrated. What both attacks lack, is a complete revelation on the real records of the two candidates.  That is left out because the whole record proves that NRA-PVF chose the right man.

Both Brady and AHSA attack NRA for endorsing the candidate who has, over almost 30 years, supported gun owners with real votes and concrete actions time after time. Instead, they argue that NRA is wrong because that candidate does not have a perfect pro-gun record, and in fact on those issues where he has not stood with gun owners, NRA has criticized him.  The problem is, the other candidate has an epic-length record of opposition to gun owners and sportsmen! In fact the only place he supports the second amendment is with hollow campaign rhetoric that even Hillary Clinton warned voters about!

The response of Brady Campaign does raise one question: If the NRA-PVF endorsed candidate really is anti-gun, why did they endorse the other guy

Additionally, AHSA, even goes so far as to state that NRA is wrong to support the better candidate because it should instead just buy the lies told from the campaign trail and support the man who has opposed gun owners' rights for his entire career!  But then, AHSA wants to redefine "pro-gun" to include only politicians who are endorsed by groups like the Sierra Club.  People like Ted Kennedy, Charles Schumer and Nancy Pelosi!

NRA has never hidden its differences with the endorsed candidate.  NRA has not forgotten them now.  But the response of these two groups should tell gun owners two important things:  The NRA-PVF endorsed candidate must be the best choice for gun owners if the Brady Campaign opposes him and, AHSA is once again clearly showing that they are a part of the anti-gun political movement and in fact are working in concert with the radical anti-gun groups that want to dismantle our Second Amendment rights!

NRA-PVF is more than confident that its endorsed candidate is not simply the better of the two, he is FAR better.  In fact, the man Brady and AHSA have endorsed would be the most anti-gun candidate in American history! Of course, they are both anti-gun organizations, so that makes sense.
