HCR 2037, sponsored by State Representative Jerry Weiers (R-12), a measure that would protect the right to hunt and fish in Arizona through a constitutional amendment, passed out of the House Rules Committee by an 8 to 2 vote. The bill is now headed to the floor where it will be debated in the Committee of the Whole on Monday, March 24.
The Rules Committee vote was a strong indication that the calls and emails from NRA members have made a large impact on the progress of this resolution but we need to keep up the work!
Anti-hunting groups such as The Sierra Club and the Humane Society have targeted this measure for defeat and they are currently phone banking their membership asking them to call and write their State Representatives to oppose HCR 2037.
Please take the time to contact your State Representative today and ask that he or she support HCR2037 when it comes before them. To contact your State Representative please click here.
