On Thursday, February 21, two bills that further protect Arizonans' Right to Keep and Bear Arms passed the Arizona House Judiciary Committee.
House Bill 2629, sponsored by State Representative Russell Pearce (R-18), clarifies that a defensive display of a firearm is justified when a person feels that they are in physical danger and there is a need to protect themselves. House Bill 2634, introduced by State Representative Rick Murphy (R-9), allows for a person whose civil rights have been restored to obtain a permit to carry a concealed firearm. Both bills now move to the full House for a floor vote.
