The New Jersey Division of Fish & Wildlife is hosting the 6th Annual Wildlife Heritage Festival on Sunday, September 30 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Pequest Trout Hatchery in Warren County, New Jersey.
This exciting day of family fun will be action packed for children of all ages. Kids ages 8 to 16 will be able to learn the art of fishing in an educational pond. Those under 8 will be able to fish in a “kiddie fishing tank” stocked with the hatchery’s trout. For archers, an archery range will be available for beginners, and advanced archers can use a free, 15 stage, 3-D archery course to take aim at deer, bear, turkey, and coyotes. If you wish to use the 3-D course, please bring your own equipment. Instructors will be on hand to teach the essentials of shotgun shooting. There will also be a hunter education field session. Wildlife artists and taxidermists will be on-site selling their art and services inside the auditorium with a Sportsmen’s Flea Market offering various hunting and fishing necessities.
Come share in this great opportunity to learn about the wildlife traditions of the Garden State!
