This week House Bill 13, "An act encouraging landowners to make land and water areas available to the public for recreational purposes by limiting liability in connection therewith and repealing certain acts," sponsored by State Representative Harry Readshaw (D-36), passed the Senate 50-0 and is on the way to Governor Edward Rendell (D) for his consideration.
This legislation will give added protection to a land owner who either directly or indirectly invites or permits any person to use his property for recreational purposes. The land owner would not incur liability for any injury to persons or property caused while hunting.
Please contact the Governor’s office TODAY at (717) 787-2500 and politely urge him to sign this vital piece of legislation.
