This week, the Oregon Legislature passed House Bill 2370, a Homeland Security-related bill that contained an amendment prohibiting any unit of government from seizing firearms from law-abiding citizens during a future state of emergency. The measure now moves to Governor Ted Kulongoski (D) for his expected signature.
State Representative Wayne Krieger (R-1) was responsible for having the amendment drafted and introduced to the Emergency Preparedness Committee. State Representative Krieger was also a sponsor of our Youth Hunter Mentoring Bill. His assistance on these and other Second Amendment issues has been and continues to be invaluable.
