HB 2528 passed the Federal and State Affairs Committee on Monday, March 5. This important legislation removes language that was being misinterpreted by Kansas cities to ban concealed carry of handguns on city owned property such as parks, greenways, and all city buildings. The bill also strips cities of their ability to regulate firearms, restoring the original intent of the bill.
HB 2528 now heads to the House floor for a debate on Monday, March 19. Please contact your State Representative at (800) 432-3924 and respectfully urge him or her to support HB 2528.
