Please Contact Your State Legislators Today!

Five important pieces of pro-gun legislation are currently making their way through the Kentucky State Legislature.

House Bill 354, sponsored by State Representative Robin Webb (D-96), would establish a tax credit for easements granted to allow wildlife-associated public access to private lands.

House Bill 375, also authored by State Representative Webb, would provide that the state occupies the field of regulation of various sporting and other activities and prohibit local government from regulating in those fields.

House Bill 469, championed by State Representative Robert Damron (D-39), would clarify that the purchase of firearms in contiguous states to specify that Kentucky residents may purchase or otherwise acquire firearms anywhere it is legal to do so under federal and state law; specify that out-of-state residents may purchase or otherwise acquire firearms in Kentucky if the purchase is legal under federal and state law; specify that persons who are legal residents of the United States may purchase or otherwise acquire firearms in Kentucky if the purchase is legal under federal and state law.

Senate Bill 8, sponsored by State Senator Jack Westwood (R-23), would permit a concealed firearm in a motor vehicle in any compartment or box regularly installed in the vehicle by its manufacturer, regardless of whether the compartment or box is locked, unlocked, or has no locking mechanism.

Senate Bill 48, introduced by State Senator Robert Stivers (R-25), would allow private landowners and any governmental entity to enter into the agreement for the recreational use of the land.

Please contact your State Representative and your State Senator at (502) 564-8100 and respectfully urge him or her to support the Second Amendment by supporting HB354, HB375, HB469, SB8, and SB48.
