The Kofa National Wildlife Refuge (Arizona) is considering opening the refuge to a lion hunt. The proposal is to add Kofa to an existing multi-unit hunt area managed by the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Public comments on the mountain lion hunt plan, and the accompanying environmental assessment and compatibility determination will be accepted until December 29. These documents can be accessed at http://www.fws.gov/southwest/refuges/arizona/kofa.html. The refuge needs to hear the views of individual hunters on this new hunting opportunity.
