Fairfax, VA—Congressman Charles Boustany, running for re-election in Louisiana’s 7th District, has received the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF)’s endorsement.
NRA-PVF grades are calculated based on a variety of criteria, such as voting record, public statements on gun-related topics, answers to candidate questionnaires and feedback from local volunteers.
“The NRA is synonymous with defending the freedom of law-abiding Americans,” said Chris W. Cox, Chairman of NRA – PVF. “That is why we are pleased to endorse Charles Boustany, a Congressman with a longstanding, proven commitment to the Second Amendment. We know he will continue to work to protect the rights of law-abiding gun owners in Louisiana.”
As Congressman, Charles Boustany has remained a steadfast supporter of pro-gun, NRA-supported legislation. He voted for the "Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act" to safeguard the American firearm industry from frivolous lawsuits, passed and signed into law in 2005.
After witnessing the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in his home state, he worked to help pass the "Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act" to prohibit federal officials from confiscating lawfully possessed firearms during state or federal emergencies.
Congressman Boustany also supports restoring Washington, D.C. residents' Second Amendment rights. His dedication to freedom and the Second Amendment has earned Congressman Boustany an "A" rating and endorsement from NRA-PVF.
“Louisiana’s hunters and gun owners value their right to own firearms, and Charles Boustany is the best candidate to help them preserve that freedom.” Cox continued, “We urge all NRA members and gun owners to vote for Congressman Charles Boustany on November 7.”
Chris Cox also serves as Executive Director of the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Actions (NRA-ILA).
