This week, the House of Representatives passed H 4301, introduced by Representative G. Murrell Smith, Jr. (R-67), with overwhelming bi-partisan support, and virtually no opposition. This bill, modeled after Florida’s “Castle Doctrine” law, would remove the “duty to retreat” if a law-abiding citizen is attacked anywhere that person may lawfully be.
