On Wednesday, June 1st, the Louisiana House Ways & Means Committee will hold a public hearing on HB 726, the ammo tax bill, in Committee Room 6 of the State Capitol at 9:30 a.m.
HB 726 by Representative Charmaine Marchand (D‑New Orleans) would impose a 3‑percent tax on the sale of all ammunition in the state. Monies collected under the bill would be deposited into a newly‑created fund called the "Juvenile Crime Prevention Fund."
