home, Doris Burckhard investigated and found a bedroom window pried
open. She called her husband, who picked up his .25 cal. automatic.
He found an armed man in a hallway. After taking a severe blow to
his eye from the intruder's pistol, Burckhard fired. The man ran
from the house, collapsing in the street after a few blocks.
