Fresno County Sheriff's Department Concealed Carry Weapons Permit Resources

If you are here, it is because you have taken it upon yourself to make Fresno County a safer place by seeking a CCW permit.

NRA and CRPA want to make sure that you know that you live in one of the California counties where it is relatively simple to get a license to carry a firearm (CCW) outside your home, and to encourage you to consider applying for one if you haven’t already.

As a result of litigation and educational efforts by the NRA and CRPA on behalf of our members, many California jurisdictions that previously made it difficult to obtain a CCW have changed their policies to make it easier to get a CCW.

To apply for a CCW permit, visit the Fresno County Sheriff’s Online CCW application system at https://fresnoso.permitium.com/entry . There you will find instructions on how to complete and submit the initial application to the Fresno County CCW Unit.

If you need help in completing the application, including what information to include for your “good cause” statement, you can email CRPA support staff at [email protected]. You can also contact the Fresno County Sheriff’s CCW Unit by telephone at (559) 600-8515, or by email at [email protected].

After the Sheriff initially approves your application, you will need to submit “Livescan” fingerprints and attend a mandatory firearms training course from an instructor approved by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department. The Fresno County Sheriff’s Department maintains a list of authorized instructors which you can view online at https://www.fresnosheriff.org/images/pdfs/Instructors_List_180102.pdf.
