HB 4417 would ban so-called “machine gun convertible pistols,” using vague and overbroad language that targets many common semi-automatic handguns, including all Glock pistols, simply because criminals might illegally modify them with conversion devices. These devices are already illegal under both state and federal law. This legislation is not only unconstitutional but a completely misguided policy proposal, removing the ability for law-abiding citizens to purchase some of the most popular and commonly owned firearms on the market. .
