Oregon: Senate Hearing Scheduled for Gun-Control Omnibus Bill

On Monday, May 12th, the Senate Rules Committee will hold a hearing on Senate Bill 243, an omnibus gun-control bill. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 1pm.

Please consider submitting testimony in opposition to SB 243 through the state legislature website, and contact committee members directly by using the TAKE ACTION button below.

SB 243 is an omnibus gun-control bill that includes elements of other anti-gun bills. This bill now includes: SB 429, imposing a 72-hour waiting period for the purchase of firearms and firearm parts; SB 696, creating the crime of unlawful transport, manufacture, or transfer of a "rapid-fire activator"; and SB 698, expanding gun-free zones by allowing public entities to adopt policies that prohibit firearms, even for concealed handgun license holders.
