Today, the Senate Health and Human Services Commmittee heard SB 1524, providing privacy protections for foster parents that own firearms. SB 1524 will soon be eligible for a vote in committee. Senate Bill 1524 prohibits child placement and state agencies from requiring foster parents to provide a list of the specific types of firearms that are kept in the home and ensures that information regarding the presence of firearms in the home remains confidential.
