Rhode Island: Semi-Auto Ban Legislation Moving Soon - Take Action Now!

The time to act is now for Rhode Island gun owners. It’s not a matter of “if” anti-gun politicians move forward with H.5436, the latest semi-auto ban legislation in Providence, it is a matter of “when.” The real question is how many Ocean State NRA members will answer the call today and make their voices heard. Use the Take Action button below to contact your lawmakers and tell them to vote NO on H.5436!

There is only one way to stop this colossal infringement on your Second Amendment rights. Every gun owner in the state of Rhode Island needs to contact their Senator and Representative immediately and respectfully let them know we oppose this legislation. Anti-gun politicians care more about their jobs than public safety despite the rhetoric.

The overwhelming evidence shows that rifles (rifles of any kind) are almost never used to commit crimes in Rhode Island. Unpersuaded and fixated on achieving their political ambitions, Gov. Dan McKee and his gun grabbing friends in the Statehouse have been persistently calling for a gun ban. The Governor has gone so far as to say he intends to put it in the budget. The current bill in the legislature is H.5436 which is a sweeping semi-auto gun ban. The bill is so broad it includes shotguns with fixed magazines holding more than six rounds. That is correct. A popular snow goose hunting shotgun would be an “assault weapon” under this ill-conceived and unconstitutional legislation.

Do not wait until it is too late. Please contact your Senator and Representative immediately and tell them to vote NO on gun bans and NO on H.5436

Please stay tuned to NRA-ILA and your email inbox for further updates on Second Amendment legislation.
