Joseph Greenlee Joins NRA-ILA as Director of Litigation Counsel, Bolstering Second Amendment Advocacy Efforts

The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) is proud to announce the appointment of Joseph Greenlee as Director of the Office of Litigation Counsel. With a sterling record of advocacy and scholarship in defense of Second Amendment rights, Greenlee's addition to the NRA-ILA team marks a significant stride in our ongoing efforts to protect and advance the rights of American gun owners through legal channels.

Joseph Greenlee comes to the NRA-ILA with a rich background in constitutional law, specifically pertaining to the Second Amendment. His professional journey is highlighted by significant tenures at various respected institutions and organizations. At Greenlee Law, PLLC, he honed his skills in constitutional and appellate litigation, demonstrating a profound commitment to upholding Second Amendment rights. His role as a Senior Attorney and Director of Constitutional Studies at the Firearms Policy Coalition was marked by achievements in litigation and policy advocacy, further cementing his reputation as a formidable advocate for gun rights.

As a Research Associate in Constitutional Law at the Independence Institute and a Policy Advisor for Legal Affairs at the Heartland Institute, Greenlee has contributed to shaping the discourse around constitutional freedoms, with a focus on the right to bear arms. His scholarly work, including authoring and co-authoring 15 scholarly articles cited over 225 times, underscores his influence in the legal community. Greenlee's academic contributions have been recognized in nearly 100 separate cases, including by the U.S. Supreme Court, showcasing the depth of his expertise and the impact of his work.
