WEBCAST WATCH PLANS: Interim Legislative Committee to Meet Thursday for Update on Second Amendment Court Cases and Governor's Gun Control Initiatives!

Dear New Mexico NRA Member:

This Thursday, October 26th, the New Mexico Interim Joint Courts, Corrections & Justice Committee will meet in Las Vegas, NM. On the agenda will be updates on the current landscape of firearms litigation in the post-Bruen era and the governor's recent gun control initiatives, as well as (we can presume) a preview of her priorities for the 30-day session in 2024, to include: semi-automatic firearm bans and magazine limits, age restrictions on firearm purchases, waiting periods, and legislation paving the way for lawsuits to bankrupt the firearms industry.

The committee will hear from invited presenters only, and no public testimony will be taken. You can watch the proceedings online, as they will be live-streamed via the New Mexico legislative website (go to www.nmlegis.gov and click on Main Menu then Webcast.)

The portion of the meeting related to Second Amendment issues will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will likely run through lunchtime; you can find a copy of the agenda here. Tune in to get a preview of how the New Mexico Legislature plans to attack your Second Amendment rights next session.

Also, contact your State Senators and State Representatives and urge them to OPPOSE any gun control legislation next session!
