Washington: Gov. Inslee Signs Comprehensive Semi-Automatic Firearm Ban & Other Anti-Gun Bills

This morning, Governor Jay Inslee signed his latest round of gun control bills into law: House Bill 1240, a comprehensive ban on most commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms and firearm parts, Senate Bill 5078, to allow anti-gun zealots to bankrupt the firearm industry with frivolous lawsuits, and House Bill 1143, to impose a waiting period and training mandate for acquiring firearms.

HB 1240 is the worst of such schemes in the country, exceeding what California imposes on its citizens. NRA currently has lawsuits working their way through the federal courts against the similar bans that CaliforniaDelaware, and Illinois have enacted. Such bans on commonly-owned firearms that are popular with law-abiding citizens for legitimate purposes fly in the face of the text, history, and tradition of Second Amendment rights.
