Nebraska: Contact Committee Members Today to Oppose “Red Flag” Bill

The Judiciary Committee will meet on Friday, February 10, 2023, to vote on LB 482, a “red flag” bill. The so-called “Red Flag” orders, or Emergency Risk Protection Orders, are designed to empower the government to confiscate Americans’ firearms without due process of law. The hearing will take place at 1445 K St., Lincoln, NE 68508 in Room 1113 at 1:30 p.m. We encourage you to attend to show your strong opposition to LB 482. Please use the link below to contact the committee members today asking them to oppose this gun control measure.

Gun owners can be certain “red flag” laws will be abused. While “red flag” extreme risk protection orders may seem like a good idea on paper, they have been proven to be ineffective and unconstitutional. They can lead to the violation of citizens' rights. Therefore, alternative solutions should be considered to address the issue at hand.

Provided the hostile intentions of those pushing “red flag” laws, these measures pose a mortal danger to the right to free speech, the right to keep and bear arms, and the right to due process under the law. Please forward this to your family and friends, encouraging them to contact their lawmakers to oppose LB 482.
