Alabama: We Need Your Help to Pass Lifetime Permits in Senate Judiciary!

On March 4th, the Senate Committee on Judiciary will hold a public hearing on Senate Bill 47 to create a new lifetime carry permit.  A number of sheriffs are attempting to derail this much needed upgrade, so Second Amendment supporters need to make their voices heard.  Please contact committee members and ask them to SUPPORT SB 47.

March 4th at 2:30PM in Room 825
11 South Union St.
Montgomery, AL 36130

Senate Bill 47, sponsored by Senator Randy Price, creates a new statewide, uniform system to provide lifetime permits for qualified applicants at cost of $200. For state residents over 65, the fee drops to $150.

Don’t listen to the “fake news” being pushed by opponents of this bill.  Most aspects of the current permitting process will not change.  Individuals interested in obtaining a lifetime permit will apply at their local sheriff’s office for a background check and to fill out the appropriate paperwork.

Don’t let them take this option from you!  Press the “Take Action” button now to let committee members know that you want SB 47 to pass with no amendments.

We must make our voices heard loud and clear on this bill to get it passed.  This is an important change to the existing permitting system that will give law-abiding gun owners the option of deciding which route is best suited for their individual self-defense needs.  This choice should be yours!

It’s time to stand up for the right to self-defense and let your elected officials know that you want this measure passed this session.

Again, please contact committee members and ask them to SUPPORT SB 47 with no amendments.
