Hawaii: Anti-Reciprocity Resolutions to Be Heard

Hawaii: Anti-Reciprocity Resolutions to Be Heard

On Wednesday March 21st, the Hawaii state House Committee on Judiciary will be hearing House Concurrent Resolution 37 and House Resolution 29 requesting the Congressional Delegation of Hawaii to vote against any national reciprocity legislation.  HCR 37 and HR 29 previously passed the House Committee on Public Safety and Military Affairs on March 8.  Please contact members of the committee and urge them to OPPOSE HCR 37 and HR 29.  Click the “Take Action” button below to contact committee members.

Also, please consider submitting testimony to the committee through the Hawaii Legislature website. In order to submit testimony, you will need to create an account.  For help creating an account and submitting testimony, click here.

House Concurrent Resolution 37 and House Resolution 29, sponsored by Representative Gregg Takayama (D-34), requests Congress to not enact S. 446, H.R. 38, or any “concealed carry reciprocity” legislation that would require the State of Hawaii to recognize the concealed carry standards of every other state.  The fundamental Right to Keep and Bear Arms should not end at the state line.  National Concealed Carry Reciprocity would ensure that law-abiding citizens do not forfeit their ability to protect themselves as they travel from state to state, and it would also ensure that anti-gun jurisdictions could not harass or persecute travelers for exercising their constitutionally guaranteed rights.

Again, please click the “Take Action” below to contact committee members to OPPOSE HCR 37 and HR 29.  Please also submit testimony to the committee with the Hawaii Legislature website.  Continue to check your inbox and www.NRAILA.org for the latest updates on issues impacting your Second Amendment rights and hunting heritage in Hawaii.
