Today, the Kansas Legislature adjourned from its 2017 Legislative Session after numerous fights and many attempts to water down the pro-gun law taking effect later this week. On Saturday, July 1, a section of the Public Building Security Act, pro-gun legislation that amended the Personal and Family Protection Act, will go into effect. This section will allow law-abiding individuals to carry a concealed firearm for self-defense in most government buildings, including those on public college campuses if the entity chooses not to provide adequate security.
