Thank you to all NRA members and supporters who attended the public meeting in Mason County on possible locations for the construction of a target shooting range in the Tahuya State Forest. DNR has identified two potential locations for a proposed range and is asking for input on the site location and features for the range. Information from the meeting on the proposed sites may be found here. Additionally, comments and input on the proposed range locations and on target shooting in the Tahuya State Forest may be sent to [email protected].
Last year, DNR held a series of public meetings for the people of Washington to voice their opinion on how to preserve and enhance recreational opportunities in Washington’s state forests. One of the proposed ideas was to develop a shooting range to provide gun owners with an environment where they can practice using their firearms safely and effectively.
Keeping public lands open for target shooting is one of the NRA’s top priorities. We will continue to fight and ensure that Washington’s rich shooting and outdoor heritage is preserved for future generations.
