Tennessee: Multiple Bills Going into Effect in the New Year

On January 1, 2017, multiple pro-gun bills will be going into effect after being passed and signed by Governor Bill Haslam following the 2016 Tennessee Legislative Session.

House Bill 1424 and Senate Bill 1477 will reduce the renewal of lifetime permit fees to $200.

House Bill 2425 and Senate Bill 2238 lowers the age to apply for a handgun carry permit from 21 to 18 years of age for active duty military, retired veterans and those who were honorably discharged.
