NRA Debunks Jason Kander's Second Amendment Lies in New Ad

Fairfax, Va.— The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) launched a TV ad on Tuesday exposing U.S. Senate candidate Jason Kander’s attempt to misrepresent his Second Amendment voting record. The spot, “Blindfold,” focuses on votes Kander cast in Jefferson City and demonstrates that he's a politician who will say anything to get elected.

“The stakes for law-abiding gun owners in this election have never been higher. Missourians cannot afford to elect a liberal politician who says one thing and does another,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman, NRA-PVF. “Jason Kander is no different than Hillary Clinton – willing to say whatever he thinks will get him elected to national office."

Kander released an ad last week that used his ability to assemble a rifle to distract from his anti-Second Amendment voting record. In the ad, Kander says he voted to protect Second Amendment freedoms. But that statement ignores his actual voting record.

In 2008, Kander refused to fill out a candidate questionnaire regarding his Second Amendment views. In 2009, Kander voted “no” on a bill (HB 668) that protected the fundamental right to keep a firearm in the home for self-defense; lowered to 21 the qualifying age for concealed carry permit holders; and removed campus carry prohibitions. In 2010, Kander voted “no” on a bill that would prohibit store owners from banning guns. In 2011, Kander voted against a bill that would prohibit extra sales taxes on firearms and allow concealed carry for members of the General Assembly in the state capitol building. In 2012, Kander again refused to answer a candidate questionnaire regarding his Second Amendment views.

“Missourians deserve a senator who will be honest and defend their rights in Washington. That's why all freedom-loving Missourians should vote Roy Blunt for U.S. Senate,” concluded Cox.

Script:
Jason Kander has a blindfold, and he has a good trick with his gun, but he’s not telling the truth about your gun
As a liberal Jefferson City politician, Jason Kander voted against your right to defend yourself in your own home with a firearm
Now that he wants your vote, Kander is trying to cover up his record
Don’t let Jason Kander put a blindfold on you Defend Freedom, defeat Jason Kander
