SB-290 PASSED by a Vote of 4-1 in the Senate Criminal Justice Committee (Voting FOR the bill were Senators Brandes, Bradley, Clemens and Evers.  AGAINST the bill was Sen. Audrey Gibson)

SB-290 Mandatory Evacuation by Senator Jeff Brandes (R-St. Petersburg) – Would provide an exemption from criminal penalties for carrying a concealed weapon or a concealed firearm when complying with a mandatory evacuation order during a declared state of emergency. Restores the right to protect yourself and your family during an emergency, mandatory evacuation.

SB-176  PASSED by a Vote of 3-2 in the Senate Criminal Justice Committee (Voting FOR the bill were Senators Brandes, Bradley and Evers  AGAINST the bill were Senators Jeff Clemens Sen. Audrey Gibson)

SB-176 Campus Carry by CW License Holders by Senator Greg Evers (R-Baker) - Would allow adults over 21 years of age who have a Concealed Weapon or Firearm License to carry their firearms with them on campus.  Currently, college and university campuses are "gun free zones" where criminals can attack students, administrators, faculty members and guests on campus without fear of being harmed by their victims.
