This Monday, June 9, at 7:30 pm, the Pleasant Hill City Council will be holding a special meeting to determine the fate of an ill-advised ordinance targeting legal firearm retailers in Pleasant Hill—all but removing them from the city’s limits. This meeting follows the May 6th vote of the Planning Commission giving a unanimous negative recommendation on adoption of this ordinance, meaning all of the commissioners oppose it. We encourage all who support Second Amendment rights to attend this meeting on Monday and voice their opposition to the ordinance.
The NRA's attorneys in California are closely following this ordinance and have submitted a letter of oppostion. If you are able to attend this meeting, we urge you to respectfully express your opposition to this proposal that has done nothing but waste valuable city resources that are already stretched thin. It will do nothing to improve public safety. Encourage the City Council to do the right thing, accept the Planning Commission’s negative recommendation, and scrap this proposal once and for all.
This special meeting will take place this Monday, June 9 at 7:30 pm at the City Council Chambers on 100 Gregory Lane in Pleasant Hill. Should you be unable to attend, contact members of the City Council and express your opinion. You can e-mail all Pleasant Hill Council members by visiting this website. Or you can call the City Council at (925) 671-5267. Letters should be mailed to Pleasant Hill City Council, 100 Gregory Lane, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523.
