Last week, there was a mark-up in the Senate Treasury Postal Committee.
During the mark-up, Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK) offered an amendment clarifying that carry in parking lots of postal facilities pursuant to state law does not violate the federal facilities ban, and requiring that it be allowed under postal regulations. The amendment passed overwhelmingly.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) also offered an amendment clarifying that carry in postal facilities and postal parking lots pursuant to state law does not violate the federal facilities ban and requiring that it be allowed under postal regulation. The amendment failed.
