The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has released a plan to guide management of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge for the next 15 years.
The 59,000-acre refuge is located 25 miles northwest of Lawton, Oklahoma, and was originally established as a Forest Reserve in 1901. The draft plan calls for the continuation of elk and deer hunting to manage population levels.
The NRA would appreciate its hunter-members taking a few minutes to send a message in support of keeping elk and deer hunting as core values of this national wildlife refuge.
