Dog breeder April Williams of Toledo, Ohio arrived home to find a window screen from her home had been removed. Suspecting intruders were after her litter of pit bulls, Williams, a Right-to-Carry permit holder, retrieved a handgun and went inside the house to investigate. As she entered, two criminals fled the home through the basement as a third jumped through a closed window to flee. The third criminal was wounded by broken glass in his escape attempt and Williams escorted the burglar back inside at gun point, dressed his wounds and called the police. Having been burglarized six times since 2003, Williams is a staunch advocate for armed self-defense, telling the local media that she wants every homeowner in Toledo armed. Williams also had a warning for the burglars who fled, stating, “If they come back, I will shoot them. I won’t have any compassion for them.”
