Monday, March 22, 2010

Please Contact Your State Senator Today!

On Monday, March 22, Senate Bill 411 received a “Favorable Report with Amendments” from the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee.  It will be taken up on Second Reading before the full Senate, tomorrow, March 23.

SB411, sponsored by State Senator Mac Middleton (D-28), would provide immunity from damages when force, including deadly force, is reasonable under the circumstances to repel an attack.

While the amendments are not yet available, NRA-ILA will notify you as soon as they are received from the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee.

The passage of SB411 by the Judicial Proceedings Committee is a victory for those who believe the right to self-defense is universal and all Maryland citizens are entitled to those rights.

Please contact your State Senator TODAY and respectfully urge them to support SB411. Contact information for your State Senator can be found by clicking here.
