Maine Legislature to Consider Bill Undermining Park Carry

The Maine legislature is currently considering legislation (LD1737) that would ban the carrying of firearms within AcadiaNational Park and along Maine’s portion of the Appalachian Trail.The bill’s sponsor has indicated that he would support an amendment exempting concealed carry permit holders.
A recently adopted federal law, which allows the carrying of firearms in all National Parks, goes into effect on Monday, February 22.
