On Wednesday, August 26, Governor Bev Perdue (D) signed House Bill 473 into law.
This new law will permit magistrates with a Right-to-Carry permit, and with some additional training, to carry concealed firearms into courthouses while on official business. This represents a positive step by removing one of the arbitrary restrictions on where certain Right-to-Carry permit holders may carry firearms for personal protection.
NRA would like to thank Governor Perdue and the North Carolina Legislature for their efforts to enact HB473. Also, thank you to all of the NRA members who answered the call in support of this bill. Without you, this victory would not have been possible.
