Pennsylvania: Erie City Council Passes “Lost or Stolen” Ordinance

Yesterday morning, by a 7 to 0 vote, the Erie City Council passed a proposal that would require gun owners to report a lost or stolen firearm within a 72-hour period or face fines and possible imprisonment. This law not only violates Pennsylvania’s state preemption laws, but will turn law-abiding gun-owners who already been victimized by theft, into criminals.  It’s simply a way to penalize gun-owners for the acts of criminals.
