The starting cornerback for the Arkansas State football team, Paul Stephens, attempted to burglarize an apartment in Jonesboro, Ark around 12:00a.m.. The resident retrieved a gun and fired a Stephens, striking him in the midsection and causing him to flee. Police were able to locate Stephens a short while later at a local hospital, where he was receiving treatment for his wounds. Arkansas State head football coach Steve Roberts has dismissed Stephens from the team.
