The Montana House of Representatives voted NOT to concur on the Senate amendments made to House Bill 228. The NRA-supported self-defense legislation will now be sent to Conference Committee. This appears to be a favorable development as the bill sponsor, State Representative Krayton Kerns (R-58), supported the move in an effort to remove the objectionable provision, added by the Senate, that would restrict concealed carry in health care facilities. The Conference Committee should meet early next week.
As soon as we have additional information, NRA will provide an update on the next step that NRA members should take to help ensure successful passage of this important legislation.
