On Wednesday, February 25, House Bill 1237, authored by pro-gun State Representative Beverly Pyle (R-83), stalled in the Senate Judiciary Committee, effectively killing the bill.
HB 1237 would have permitted churches to decide for themselves whether they would allow Right-to-Carry permit holders to carry their firearms when attending church. Currently, state law singles out churches as the only private property where firearms are prohibited.
Thanks you to all those who contacted the committee in an attempt to get this important piece of legislation passed.
