NRA-PVF Endorses Saxby Chambliss for U.S. Senate

Friday, October 24, 2008

Fairfax, VA-The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss for re-election in Georgia.

“We are pleased to endorse Senator Chambliss for re-election because of his unwavering commitment to preserving our gun rights and hunting heritage,” said Chris W. Cox, Chairman of NRA - PVF. “Senator Chambliss is a proven friend and dependable leader for gun owners in the United States Senate.”

Saxby Chambliss has a long history of defending the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens. Senator Chambliss cosponsored the “District of Columbia Personal Protection Act,” to repeal the gun ban/registration for law-abiding residents of our nations’ capitol and signed the historic congressional amicus brief that reaffirmed the Second Amendment as an individual right.

He cosponsored and voted for numerous NRA-backed bills, including measures preventing malicious lawsuits against the firearm industry through the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act and securing our Second Amendment freedoms in the wake of a natural disaster with the Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act.

Senator Chambliss is also leader on hunting issues and believes in preserving our hunting heritage by ensuring that every American hunter continues to have access to hunting land. He is the lead sponsor of a “No Net Loss bill” that would provide opportunities and ensure continued hunting on Federal public land. The Senator is also a co-sponsor of a “National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act,” which would provide a national standard with which non-residents of a state may carry concealed firearms in the state. He’s also a strong supporter of bringing much-needed reform to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Saxby Chambliss’ strong pro-gun record has earned him an “A+” rating and endorsement by NRA-PVF.

“NRA-PVF is endorsing Saxby Chambliss because he has worked tirelessly to preserve our Second Amendment freedoms for future generations,” concluded Cox. “I ask every Georgia gun owner and NRA member to vote for Saxby Chambliss for U.S. Senate on November 4th.”
