Raised Bill No. 178 has been amended by the Public Safety and Security Committee. Members removed language that would have lengthened the processing time for pistol permits and changed the provision pertaining to gun shows to require that show promoters contact the State Police in advance of when an event will take place rather than requiring them to seek approval from both local and state police.
The bill now heads to the Judiciary Committee where it has the potential to be used as a vehicle for more anti-gun language. We'll keep you posted.
